Enhancements to Streamline Business Verification and Risk Management

As we wrap up Q3, we're excited to share some powerful new features and updates that improve the way you verify and manage business identities. From launching Web Analysis to improving our Address Risk Insights, these enhancements will help you make faster, more informed decisions while mitigating risk. Below is a roundup of everything we shipped this past quarter.

Q3 Business Verification & Credit Assessment Updates

Gain new business insights with Web Analysis
We're excited to introduce Web Analysis, a new beta feature that analyzes a business's website to verify that the information on the website is consistent with what was submitted by that business. Middesk can also evaluate the quality of the website as low, medium, or high to give another indicator of business legitimacy. Web Analysis reduces the amount of time analysts spend manually reviewing a business's online footprint, speeds up customer decisioning, and reduces business risk. Learn more in our blog post.

Streamline onboarding decisions with your TIN denylist
With our latest TIN denylist functionality in the Middesk dashboard, you can automatically flag and reject businesses that submit a TIN from your denylist, ensuring you don’t spend any more time evaluating businesses you have already said no to.

Flag risky addresses with new Address Risk Insights
We now provide Address Risk Insights as part of our core business verification product at no additional cost. You can identify and flag high-risk locations by detecting links to registered agents, leveraging our proprietary list of over 40,000 registered agents across the U.S. to flag addresses commonly used in fraudulent schemes. Additionally, you can now see how frequently a location related to the submitted address is used by businesses across the U.S., helping you identify potential misuse. Learn more in our API docs.

Improve address match rates with historical Secretary of State registrations
Simultaneously, we improved address match rates to help you verify more legitimate businesses with ease. We now surface stored historical Secretary of State registration addresses, which are used to improve address match rates. We built this feature in direct response to instances in which businesses submit an older address after a recent address change or have multiple addresses across multiple registrations. Now Middesk can help match a submitted address with an old address, thereby improving your customer verification rates.Reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions about how to take advantage of this new feature.

Improve Industry Classification turnaround time with multiple classification codes
In June, we launched a significantly more powerful Industry Classification product. We’ve continued to make improvements throughout Q3 to Industry Classification, such as improving our turnaround time, so you can verify more businesses faster. We also now return multiple classification codes within each classification system (prohibited industry, NAICS, SIC, MCC) with corresponding confidence scores to give you a more holistic view of a business.

Easily review the business API response in the dashboard
To ease integration development and debugging, we added the ability to view API responses in the dashboard. Users with a developer role can visit the dashboard and see the complete JSON payload for a Business.

Q3 Entity Management Updates

New Affiliate Partner Dashboard for easier auditing
Last quarter, we removed the manual burden and made it easier for partners to refer affiliate accounts using a custom, shareable link from your dashboard. Since then, we’ve also launched an Affiliate Partner Dashboard for top-level partners, providing full visibility into your affiliate accounts and improving overall management capabilities.
